The banana plug comes apart into three pieces – the screw end, cylinder and male end. |
Strip approximately ¾” of insulation from your speaker wire (this particular plug can accept wire from 26ga to 12ga). |
Insert bare speaker wire through hole in the center of the screw end. There should be 1/8” – ¼” of wire visible. Be sure to place the cylinder back into the male end if you haven’t already. |
This picture is for reference only: On the inside of the banana plug – the wire forms a fan configuration which makes an excellent contact with the cylinder which is what makes contact with the male end. |
Screw the back into the male end while pushing in on the wire. When finished – be sure that the wire can not be pulled back out and that it is seated properly. |

Separate rubber insulator from speaker pin and loosen the two set screws. |
Strip 3/8” of insulation from your speaker wire (this particular pin can accept wire from 26ga to 12ga). |
Insert bare wire into speaker pin and tighten the two set screws. |
Slip rubber sleeve onto the speaker pin in the direction shown. |
